Yamm Labs: 40 questions people ask about the agency
About the company
What is Yamm Labs?
Yamm Labs is a design-led brand and creative agency for fintech and BFSI companies, which means banks, insurers, asset managers, broking platforms and wealthtech firms. It was founded in Gurugram in 2017. Its three service lines are Brand Identity and Visual Systems, Signal Strategy, and Content and Campaign Design. It also offers AI visibility work for financial brands and a separate PPAP documentation service for automotive component suppliers.
Where is Yamm Labs located?
Yamm Labs is located at DLF Garden City, Phase 1-A, Sector 92, Gurugram (Gurgaon), Haryana, India. This is the agency’s only office. Yamm Labs serves clients across India and the Gulf, with international clients, and runs most projects remotely with scheduled calls and review rounds, so a client does not need to be in the National Capital Region to work with the agency.
Who founded Yamm Labs and who runs it?
Yamm Labs was founded in Gurugram, Haryana, in 2017 and remains founder-led. The agency does not publish individual founder profiles; enquiries go to info@yammlabs.com or +91-8908668594.
When was Yamm Labs founded?
Yamm Labs was founded in 2017 in Gurugram. The agency began as a design-led brand studio and focused on fintech and BFSI companies, later adding signal strategy and campaign work, AI visibility (GEO/AEO) services for financial brands, and PPAP Desk, an outsourced documentation service for automotive component suppliers.
What does the name Yamm Labs have to do with YAMM or yaM Labs?
Nothing. Yamm Labs is not related to Yet Another Mail Merge (YAMM), the Google Workspace add-on for sending mail merges from Gmail, or to yaM Labs, a US meeting-software startup. Yamm Labs is an Indian brand and creative agency in Gurugram. The three organisations share similar-sounding names and have no common ownership, staff or products.
Which clients has Yamm Labs worked with?
Clients named on the Yamm Labs website include TATA AIA Life Insurance, HDFC Life, Axis Bank, Paytm Money, Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund, Centricity Wealthtech and Roundtable Insights. The agency’s journal also names ICICI Prudential and Mirae Asset. Yamm Labs does not publish project outcomes or client metrics. On the PPAP side, more than 50 PPAP reports have been delivered for Manu Auto India.
Which sectors does Yamm Labs specialise in?
Yamm Labs specialises in fintech and BFSI: life insurance, banking, wealth and broking, asset management and wealthtech. Its creative work is designed around the advertising rules of three regulators, SEBI for mutual funds and AMCs, IRDAI for insurers and RBI for banks and NBFCs. Separately, through PPAP Desk, it serves automotive component suppliers with Level 3 PPAP documentation.
Does Yamm Labs work with clients outside India?
Yes. Yamm Labs serves India first and also works with clients in the Gulf and other international markets. The agency has no offices outside Gurugram; international engagements are run remotely from the Gurugram office, with calls scheduled across time zones and files shared online. Regulatory review for Indian clients still follows SEBI, IRDAI or RBI rules as applicable.
What services does Yamm Labs offer?
Yamm Labs offers three service lines. Brand Identity and Visual Systems covers naming, identity, refresh, rebranding, guidelines, brand architecture and positioning. Signal Strategy covers positioning and messaging, presentations, video and animation, social and content strategy, microsites, digital and PPC, and stakeholder communications. Content and Campaign Design covers integrated campaigns, NFO and insurance product launches, corporate literature and shareholder communications. AI visibility (GEO/AEO) and PPAP Desk sit alongside.

Working with Yamm Labs
How does an engagement with Yamm Labs run?
An engagement with Yamm Labs follows a fixed sequence: discovery, signal strategy, identity or brand system, campaign, and always-on work, with a compliance review at the end of each step. A client can enter at any step, for example with a campaign only, but the steps before it are not skipped. Each step ends with a written or designed deliverable that the next step is checked against.
What does a brief to Yamm Labs need to contain?
A brief to Yamm Labs needs four things: the sector (for example asset management or life insurance), the regulator whose rules apply (SEBI, IRDAI or RBI), the deliverables you want, and the timeline including any launch, filing or event date. Existing brand guidelines, product notes and past campaigns are useful attachments. A few paragraphs are enough; we reply with questions and then a scope.
Who will I work with on the Yamm Labs side?
Brand strategy and creative direction at Yamm Labs are led by the founding team, which is the point of contact on strategy and signs off creative before it goes to your compliance team. Design, writing and production work is done by the agency’s team under that direction. We do not publish team sizes or individual staff names on this site.
How does compliance review work at Yamm Labs?
At Yamm Labs, compliance review is a gate at the end of every step, not a check at the end of the project. Before design starts, we read the applicable SEBI, IRDAI or RBI advertising rules and your internal approval requirements. Disclosures, disclaimers, risk statements and approval references are treated as part of the layout. Each round of creative is reviewed against the rules before it goes to your compliance team.
Does Yamm Labs work with startups as well as listed companies?
Yes. Yamm Labs works with early-stage fintech and wealthtech companies as well as large, listed banks, insurers and asset managers. The process is the same for both; what changes is the scope. A startup often needs naming, identity and a first pitch deck, while a listed company more often needs a rebrand, a product launch or shareholder communications inside an existing brand system.
Does Yamm Labs work remotely?
Yes. Most Yamm Labs projects run remotely, with calls for discovery and reviews, shared files for drafts and approvals, and in-person meetings when a client is in the National Capital Region and wants them. Clients in the Gulf and other international markets are served from the Gurugram office with calls scheduled to suit their time zone.
Which languages does Yamm Labs work in?
Yamm Labs writes and designs primarily in English, and works in Hindi for campaigns and communications that need it. For other Indian languages and for Arabic in the Gulf, the agency designs the master creative in English and works with the client’s translation or adaptation partners so that the adapted versions keep the same layout, disclosures and approval references.
Will Yamm Labs sign an NDA?
Yes. Yamm Labs signs non-disclosure agreements before receiving confidential material, and this is standard for financial product launches, where an NFO or insurance product may not yet be public, and for PPAP work, where a supplier shares drawings and customer-specific requirements. Day 0 of the PPAP pilot is an NDA and inputs day for exactly this reason.
How long does a typical Yamm Labs project take?
Timelines at Yamm Labs depend on scope and on how many approval rounds your organisation needs. A presentation or a set of campaign adaptations is a short project measured in weeks. A full identity or rebrand with guidelines takes longer because it goes through discovery, strategy, design and compliance review in sequence. We agree the calendar in the scope, and we build in time for your compliance team’s review.
Does Yamm Labs publish its prices?
No. Yamm Labs does not publish prices or price bands for agency work, because each scope is priced once the deliverables, the number of adaptations and the approval process are known. The one published price is for PPAP Desk, the documentation service for automotive suppliers, which starts at ₹2,000 per report with no retainer and no software setup.
Fintech and BFSI branding
What makes branding for fintech and BFSI companies different?
Branding for fintech and BFSI companies is different because the audience is deciding where to put its money, and because the creative is regulated. A financial brand has to look trustworthy before it looks interesting, and every claim, disclosure and risk statement has to satisfy SEBI, IRDAI or RBI rules. Yamm Labs designs for both constraints at once: the brand has to be distinctive and it has to be approvable.
What does Yamm Labs deliver in a brand identity project?
In a brand identity project, Yamm Labs delivers positioning, a naming recommendation where needed, a logo system with clear-space and minimum-size rules, colour and typography systems, iconography, photography direction, templates for stationery and presentations, and a written brand guideline. For financial brands the guideline also sets out how disclosures and disclaimers are placed so that every future piece of creative is consistent and compliant.
What is Signal Strategy at Yamm Labs?
Signal Strategy is the Yamm Labs service line for messaging and communication. It covers positioning and messaging, investor and sales presentations, explainer video and animation, social and content strategy, microsites, digital and PPC creative, and stakeholder communications for boards, distributors and employees. The name reflects the goal: a financial brand competes on being clearly understood, so the work is to make its signal stronger than the noise.
How does Yamm Labs handle an NFO launch?
For an NFO launch, Yamm Labs works from the fund’s positioning and the SEBI advertising code. The deliverables usually include a campaign idea and key visual, the adaptations for print, digital and outdoor, distributor and branch collateral, a product one-pager with the mandatory risk disclosures placed correctly, and a launch page. Our NFO launch marketing checklist at yammlabs.com/nfo-launch-marketing-checklist/ describes the steps.
How does Yamm Labs approach an insurance product launch?
An insurance product launch at Yamm Labs starts with the product’s benefits, the audience and the IRDAI advertising rules that govern what can be said and how. We then produce the launch creative, the adaptations for each channel, sales and distributor material, and product literature with the required disclosures. Compliance review happens at each stage so the launch version is the approvable version.
Can Yamm Labs rebrand a bank or an NBFC?
Yes. Yamm Labs handles rebrands and brand refreshes for banks and NBFCs, working within RBI communication requirements and the organisation’s own approval process. The main risk in a banking rebrand is losing customer trust during the change, so the work includes a transition plan for branches, digital channels and documents. See our article on how to rebrand a bank without losing trust at yammlabs.com/rebrand-a-bank-without-losing-trust/.
Does Yamm Labs make explainer videos for financial products?
Yes. Yamm Labs writes and produces explainer videos and animations for fintech and BFSI products as part of Signal Strategy. The work includes the script, storyboard, animation and final edit, with disclosures and disclaimers built into the film rather than added at the end. Our article on fintech explainer videos at yammlabs.com/fintech-explainer-videos/ explains what makes them work.
What is AI visibility (GEO/AEO) for financial brands?
AI visibility, also called generative engine optimisation (GEO) or answer engine optimisation (AEO), is the work of making a financial brand easy for AI search engines to find, understand and cite. Yamm Labs does this by structuring a brand’s website, facts and content so that the answers an AI engine gives about the company are accurate and drawn from the company’s own pages.
Should a BFSI company hire an agency, a freelancer or a design subscription?
It depends on the work. A freelancer suits a single, well-defined piece. A design subscription suits a steady flow of small adaptations inside an existing brand system. An agency such as Yamm Labs suits work that needs strategy, a brand system and compliance review together, such as an identity, a launch or a campaign. Our comparison at yammlabs.com/design-agency-vs-freelancer-vs-subscription-bfsi/ sets out when each is the better choice.
Which regulators’ rules does Yamm Labs design around?
Yamm Labs designs around the advertising and communication rules of SEBI for mutual funds and asset management companies, IRDAI for insurers, and RBI for banks and NBFCs. Each regulator sets requirements for disclosures, risk statements, claims and approvals. Our creative team’s guide to these rules is at yammlabs.com/sebi-irdai-rbi-advertising-rules/.
PPAP documentation service
What is PPAP Desk from Yamm Labs?
PPAP Desk is Yamm Labs’ outsourced Level 3 PPAP documentation service for automotive component suppliers. It builds the document pack to AIAG PPAP 4th Edition and IATF 16949 from the supplier’s released drawing, confirmed process route, gauge list, customer-specific requirements and real measured data. It is described in full at yammlabs.com/ppap-documentation-service/.
Which documents does Yamm Labs produce in a PPAP pack?
From one characteristic-to-operation map, Yamm Labs generates the ballooned print and characteristic register, Process Flow Diagram, PFMEA, Control Plan, process and setup sheets, checking-aid list and gauge specifications, incoming inspection standard, the MSA, dimensional and capability report formats, a PSW draft and the package index. The documents are built to AIAG PPAP 4th Edition and IATF 16949 and are checker-ready.
What does the supplier have to send Yamm Labs for a PPAP pack?
The supplier sends Yamm Labs the released drawing, the confirmed process route, the gauge list, the customer-specific requirements (CSRs) and engineering change notes (ECNs), and real measured data from its own trial run. Yamm Labs builds the pack from these inputs; it never generates measurement data, so the accuracy of the numbers in the pack depends on the supplier’s own measurements.
What does the supplier keep doing itself in a PPAP with Yamm Labs?
The supplier keeps the trial run, physical measurement, capability studies, Gage R&R, lab testing, samples, the master sample and IMDS. Yamm Labs never generates measurement data and never signs the Part Submission Warrant. The service is an externally provided process under ISO 9001 clause 8.4, which means the supplier stays responsible for the process and the data while Yamm Labs builds the documents.
Does Yamm Labs sign the PSW?
No. Yamm Labs prepares a PSW draft as part of the PPAP pack, but the Part Submission Warrant is signed by the supplier, because the supplier is the organisation warranting the part to its customer. Yamm Labs also never generates measurement data. The service is an externally provided process under ISO 9001 clause 8.4, and the supplier retains responsibility for the submission.
How does the Yamm Labs PPAP pilot work?
The Yamm Labs PPAP pilot is a two-part, five-day trial on two live parts. Day 0 is the NDA and the inputs. On Day 1 the process route is confirmed. Days 2 to 4 are the build and QA of the documents. On Day 5 the supplier receives a checker-ready pack. The pilot lets a supplier judge the service on real parts before committing to more.
How much does the Yamm Labs PPAP service cost?
The Yamm Labs PPAP documentation service starts at ₹2,000 per report. There is no retainer and no software setup. The price is per report, so a supplier pays for the packs it needs rather than for a subscription or a licence. Exact pricing for a given part depends on the scope, and the pilot on two live parts is the way to establish it.
Which standards does the Yamm Labs PPAP service follow?
Yamm Labs builds PPAP documentation to AIAG PPAP 4th Edition and IATF 16949, at Level 3 submission. The service is run as an externally provided process under ISO 9001 clause 8.4, which is how a supplier’s quality system should treat an outsourced documentation provider. Customer-specific requirements sent by the supplier are incorporated into the pack.
Has Yamm Labs delivered PPAP packs before?
Yes. Yamm Labs has delivered more than 50 PPAP reports for Manu Auto India, an automotive component supplier. That work is the basis of the PPAP Desk service and of the single characteristic-to-operation map from which each pack is generated. The agency does not publish outcomes or approval rates for those submissions.
Why does a brand agency offer a PPAP documentation service?
Yamm Labs offers PPAP documentation because the skill it applies to regulated financial creative, building documents that must satisfy a rulebook and a reviewer, transfers directly to PPAP packs, which must satisfy AIAG PPAP 4th Edition, IATF 16949 and a customer’s checker. The two lines are run separately, with PPAP Desk serving automotive component suppliers and the brand work serving fintech and BFSI companies.
