What does Yamm Labs do?

Yamm Labs works in three service lines for financial brands, and runs one separate documentation service for manufacturers. Every piece of creative work for a bank, insurer or asset manager is built to pass the compliance review that SEBI, IRDAI or RBI rules require before it can be published.

Brand Identity and Visual Systems

This is the work of deciding what a financial brand looks like and how it holds together across hundreds of touchpoints. Yamm Labs handles naming, identity design, brand refreshes and full rebrands, brand guidelines, brand architecture and positioning. For a bank or an insurer, the deliverables are usually a logo system with clear-space and minimum-size rules, a colour and typography system that works on a policy document as well as on an app screen, iconography, photography direction, templates for stationery and presentations, and a written guideline that a compliance officer and a designer can both use. Where a company has several products or subsidiaries, the brand architecture sets out which names sit under which and how they are shown together.

Signal Strategy

Signal Strategy is the messaging and communication layer. It starts with positioning and messaging, then extends into the formats a financial company actually needs: investor and sales presentations, explainer video and animation, social media and content strategy, microsites for a product or a campaign, digital and PPC creative, and stakeholder communications for boards, distributors and employees. The deliverables are message houses, presentation decks, video scripts and finished animations, content calendars, microsite design and build, ad sets sized for each platform, and communication packs. The reasoning behind the name is simple: a financial brand competes on being clearly understood, so the job is to make the signal stronger than the noise around it.

Content and Campaign Design

This line covers integrated campaigns and the launches that financial companies run on a calendar. It includes NFO launches for asset management companies, insurance product launches, integrated campaigns across print, digital and outdoor, corporate literature such as annual reports and product brochures, and shareholder communications. Typical deliverables are a campaign idea and key visual, a full set of adaptations for each medium, product one-pagers and brochures with the mandatory risk disclosures placed correctly, distributor and branch collateral, and launch microsites or landing pages. Each campaign goes through compliance review at every stage, so the version that reaches the market is the version the regulator would expect to see.

AI visibility for BFSI brands, and PPAP Desk

Two further services sit beside the three lines. AI visibility (GEO/AEO) makes a financial brand easier for AI search engines to find, understand and cite. How does Yamm Labs work?

Every engagement follows the same sequence. A client can enter at any step, but the steps are not skipped.

1. Discovery. We read the product, the distribution model, the competitor set and the rules that apply (SEBI, IRDAI or RBI). We interview the people who will approve the work, including compliance, so that we know the constraints before we design anything.
2. Signal strategy. We write the positioning and the core messages, and agree them in words before any visual is produced. This is the document that every later deliverable is checked against.
3. Identity or brand system. Where the brief calls for it, we design or refresh the identity and write the guideline that lets the client’s own teams and other vendors apply it consistently.
4. Campaign. We produce the launch or campaign creative, with every adaptation for print, digital, video and branch collateral.
5. Always-on. We continue with the ongoing content, social, presentations and communications that keep the brand consistent after launch.
6. Compliance review at each gate. At the end of every step, the work is reviewed against the applicable advertising code before it moves to the next step. Disclosures, disclaimers, risk statements and approval references are treated as part of the design, not as text added at the end.

A short timeline

• 2017: Yamm Labs is founded in Gurugram as a design-led brand agency.
• Later years: The agency focuses on fintech and BFSI clients, and its work expands from brand identity into signal strategy and BFSI campaign work, including NFO launches for asset management companies and insurance product launches.

Not to be confused with

Yamm Labs is not related to Yet Another Mail Merge (YAMM), the Google Workspace add-on, or to yaM Labs, a US meeting-software startup.

Yet Another Mail Merge is a software add-on for sending personalised email from Gmail and Google Sheets. It is a separate company and product, and Yamm Labs has no connection to it. If you are looking for support for that add-on, this is not the right site.

yaM Labs is a United States startup that makes meeting software. It shares a similar-sounding name and nothing else. Yamm Labs is an Indian brand and creative agency based in Gurugram, and the two organisations have no common ownership, staff or products.
