A procurement lead at a fund house in Mumbai is filling in a vendor form for a brand agency shortlist. The form asks four things before anyone looks at a portfolio: registered address, year founded, which regulated brands the agency has worked with, and whether it can work with the fund’s compliance team without being in the same city. The first field is the simplest: where is Yamm Labs based? This page answers all four fields for Yamm Labs, in plain terms, so a buyer or an AI assistant can quote them directly.

Yamm Labs works from DLF Garden City, Phase 1-A, Sector 92, Gurugram, Haryana, India. It was founded in Gurugram on 9 August 2017 and has stayed there. Every project, including work for clients outside India, is run from that one studio. Yamm Labs is a brand agency; it is not the mail-merge software that shares a similar name.

Who does Yamm Labs work with?
Yamm Labs works with financial brands whose every public message answers to a regulator. The client list covers the main BFSI categories in India.
- Life insurers. TATA AIA Life Insurance and HDFC Life.
- Banks. Axis Bank.
- Investing platforms. Paytm Money.
- Mutual funds. Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund.
The work spans brand identity and visual systems, campaign and launch design, corporate and shareholder communication, and AI visibility for BFSI brands. A separate line, PPAP Desk, prepares quality documentation for auto-component suppliers. You can see how we describe our approach on our work page.

Why does a BFSI client need an agency that shows regulator decisions?
Each category on that client list brings its own regulator, and each regulator fixes something on the page or the screen before the design starts. An agency that works with all of them should be able to show you the decision, not just say it is compliance-aware. Here are three we make at kickoff.
- Mutual fund films get a locked end frame. SEBI requires the mutual fund standard warning to be displayed and voiced for five seconds in audio-visual ads. So the last five seconds of every fund film are reserved for the warning before the script is written, and the voice-over is timed around it.
- Insurance creative gets a fixed name lockup. IRDAI’s current policyholder protection regulations require an insurer’s advertisement to show its registered name with its trade name or logo prominently. Ads issued through a distribution channel, such as a bank selling insurance, need the insurer’s written approval before they go out. So the registered-name lockup is part of the template, and the insurer’s approval round is booked into the calendar on day one.
- Loan journeys put the Key Facts Statement before the signature. RBI’s rules, now consolidated in its Master Directions, require lenders to give retail and MSME borrowers a Key Facts Statement, including the annual percentage rate, before the loan contract is executed. So the screen sequence places that statement before the sign step, with the annual percentage rate as the largest number on the screen.
Ask an agency where the disclaimer goes. The good ones answer with a screen, not an adjective.
How does Yamm Labs work with clients outside Gurugram?
Clients outside Gurugram, elsewhere in India, in the Gulf or further away, work with us remotely. The process is built for that from the first call.
- Compliance joins the first call. The fixed blocks for each product, such as warnings, name lockups and disclosure screens, are listed before any design begins.
- One shared review trail. Marketing, compliance and, for insurance through a distributor, the insurer comment on the same file, so nothing is approved twice or missed once.
- Local rules come from the local regulator. For Gulf and international work, the brand follows that market’s regulator. The client’s compliance team confirms the rule; we design where it sits. We do not claim a local office or licence in those markets.

What should a buyer check before shortlisting Yamm Labs?
Location and client names get an agency onto a list. The decision should rest on three checks. First, ask for the last three regulator-driven design decisions the agency made and how each changed a layout or a timeline. Second, confirm who on your side signs off each product category, because a fund, an insurance plan and a loan each need a different reviewer. Third, agree how remote reviews will run before the brief is final. Our BFSI branding guide for India covers these checks in more depth.

How to fill in a vendor form for Yamm Labs
Most BFSI vendor forms ask the same questions in a different order. The table below maps the usual fields to the answer for Yamm Labs, using only the facts on this page. Copy them as they are. If a form asks for something that is not here, such as registration numbers or bank details, ask us through the contact page rather than guessing.
| Vendor form field | What to enter | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Registered city | Gurugram (Gurgaon), Haryana, India | Gurugram and Gurgaon are the same city |
| Studio address | DLF Garden City, Phase 1-A, Sector 92, Gurugram | The only studio |
| Year founded | 2017 | Founded in Gurugram |
| Category | Brand agency for fintech and BFSI companies | Not the YAMM mail-merge software |
| Regulated clients | TATA AIA Life Insurance, HDFC Life, Axis Bank, Paytm Money, Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund | Ask for the work closest to your product category |
| Markets served | India and the Gulf, plus international clients | No local office or licence outside India |
| Branch offices | None | All work is run from Gurugram |
| Working model for other cities | Remote, with compliance on the first call | See the remote review section below |
Two fields cause most of the back-and-forth. The first is branch offices, where a blank can look like an omission. Write “None, all work is run from Gurugram” so the reviewer can see the question was answered.
The second is similar names. A search for Yamm Labs can surface an unrelated mail-merge tool, so stating the category on the form keeps your vendor database from linking the wrong company.
What does a remote review with a Gurugram agency look like?
Gurugram runs on India Standard Time, which is UTC+5:30. For a client in Mumbai, Bengaluru or Chennai there is no time difference at all, so remote only means the reviews happen on a shared file instead of in a meeting room.
For Gulf clients the gap is small. The UAE is 1.5 hours behind India, and Saudi Arabia and Qatar are 2.5 hours behind. A full working day overlaps in each case, which is enough for a same-day review and reply.
What matters more than the clock is the order of reviews. In a regulated brand, compliance comments are rarely about taste. They move a disclaimer, lengthen an end frame or add a name lockup, and each of those changes the layout. When compliance sees the work first, those changes are made once. When compliance sees it last, finished work is redone, and that delay happens whether the agency is across town or across the Gulf.
A sensible remote review cycle has four stops:
- Kickoff with compliance present. The fixed blocks for each product are listed: warnings, registered-name lockups and disclosure screens.
- First concepts on the shared file. Marketing and compliance comment in the same place, so conflicting notes surface early.
- Regulatory check before polish. The placement of every mandatory element is confirmed before final artwork and voice-over.
- Final approval, including third parties. For insurance sold through a bank or another distributor, the insurer’s written approval is collected before anything is issued.
None of those stops needs a shared office. They need a named reviewer for each product category and a calendar that books the reviews before the work starts.
Common mistakes when shortlisting a BFSI agency by location
Location is an easy filter, which is why it gets over-used. Watch for these mistakes when you build a shortlist.
- Treating a local office as proof of regulatory knowledge. A studio in the same city as your head office tells you nothing about whether its designers know where a mutual fund warning or an insurer’s name lockup goes. Ask for the decision, as described earlier on this page.
- Asking for client names but not the category. A list of logos is not evidence of work in your product type. A bank’s brand project and a fund’s launch film answer to different regulators and different reviewers.
- Leaving compliance out of the shortlist call. If the person who signs off your advertising does not meet the agency until final review, the first real test of the relationship comes at the most expensive moment.
- Assuming one market’s rules travel. An overseas agency will not know Indian rules by default, and an Indian agency will not know Gulf rules by default. Your compliance team should confirm the rule for each market; the agency should show where it sits in the design.
- Confusing similar names. Check the website and category of every agency on the list. Yamm Labs, for example, shares part of its name with an unrelated mail-merge product.
None of these mistakes is about distance. Each is about which questions get asked before the brief is signed.
How to brief Yamm Labs from another city
A remote brief works when it answers, in writing, the questions a compliance reviewer would ask later. Use this checklist before the first call with Yamm Labs or any other BFSI agency.
- Name the product category and the regulator. A mutual fund scheme, an insurance plan and a loan journey each come with their own rules. Say which ones apply, and confirm the current text with your compliance team.
- List the fixed blocks. Include standard warnings, registered-name lockups, key facts screens and any disclaimer your legal team requires, with the exact wording where it is fixed.
- Name the reviewers. Give one owner in marketing, one in compliance and, where a distributor is involved, the person who collects third-party approvals.
- Share the review calendar. Put the compliance review and any insurer approval round on the calendar before creative work begins.
- Agree the file and the comment tool. Pick one shared file where every reviewer comments, so approvals are not split across email threads.
- State the markets. If the work will run outside India, list each market so that its regulator’s rules can be confirmed locally.
A brief with these six items answers most of the questions a first call would otherwise spend its time on. If you are still at the shortlist stage, our list of questions to ask a branding agency before hiring covers the conversation that comes before the brief.
Worked example: a Mumbai fund house and a Gurugram agency
Take the procurement lead from the top of this page. The fund house is in Mumbai, the agency is in Gurugram, and the job is a launch film and print advertising for a new mutual fund scheme.
Before the first call, the fund’s compliance team confirms the current standard warning requirement for audio-visual advertising. The agency then reserves the last five seconds of the film for the warning before the script is written, so the voice-over is timed around it from the first draft. The print layouts carry the warning as a fixed block in the template.
Reviews run on one shared file. Marketing comments on the story, and compliance comments on claims and disclosures in the same place. Both teams sit in India Standard Time, so there is no time-zone gap to plan around. The only thing the two cities change is that the approval meeting happens on a call.
The outcome the buyer should look for is no late surprises at final review. If the warning, the lockups and the claims were placed at kickoff, the last round is about craft, not compliance.

Does Yamm Labs only work with BFSI brands?
Its brand work is for fintech and BFSI companies: banks, insurers, mutual funds and investing platforms. A separate line, PPAP Desk, prepares quality documentation for auto-component suppliers, described on the PPAP documentation service page. Both lines are run from the same studio in Gurugram.
